J: er... yes! I grew up watching Monty Python. Why?
Zach: I've just been watching them on youtube ... they're soooo funny - watch this!

Zach : Mum do you know what the worst kind of apocalypse would be?
J : they'd all be pretty bad I'd imagine!
Zach : well it wouldn't be Zombies or alien invasion
J : ok...
Zach: it'd be if everything was positioned at an annoying distance to you so that you stubbed your toe all the time!
J : have you just stubbed your toe again by any chance?
Zach : yes and it bloody hurts!

X : I think we should do some trust exercises to help our relationship grow
J : oh ok how about we live together for years and I trust you not to sleep with every woman you meet...  Oh hang on we did that already and you failed miserably
X : now I think EVERY woman is a a bit of an exaggeration!  Besides I think you're underestimating the healing power of you
J : really?  Actually I think that you're over -estimating the forgiving power of me...

the assistant app on my phone offered to be my valentine ... I felt that was rubbing it in ever so slightly

Einstein

J: Have you noticed how Einstein (the cat) is in a really bad mood these days?
Zach: Yes I know he keeps beating Cutie (the other cat) up!
J: ... and he keeps killing things. Yesterday he brought a baby bunny in and started eating it! It was horrible..,
Zach: I think he needs more love - we should probably make more of a fuss of him
J: Yes I was thinking the same thing... we haven't been giving him much attention lately have we?

a couple of days and a few cuddles later

J: Einstein seems happier
Zach: Yes he does - he kept sleeping on my feet last night and being a right pain!
J: Haha - have you noticed how when one of the pets gets grumpy we just think they 're in need of more love and affection but we never think that when a person is grumpy with us - we just think they're a total jerk!!
Zach: That's because they're being a total jerk!!
