Country Song

I've listened to the words you say
Tried to understand them anyway
You talk so much my head is spinning
Don't know what game you think you're winning
Seems on the days my love's departing
You feed me just enough to keep me starving

So let me go ... let me go
If you can't find the love inside you
To fill my heart the way it used to
Just close your eyes
Walk away
We'll make love
Some other day
And stop looking for the answers to our future in our past

I've got 10 good reasons for walking away
And the one bad one that always makes me stay
I'm dragging round a dream that ended
Long before the plot got mended
You say you will even though you won't
This loose connection's our sticking point

So let me go ... let me go
If you can't find the love inside you
To fill my heart the way it used to
Just close your eyes
Walk away
We'll make love
Some other day
And stop looking for the answers to our future in our past

People diss country but I find it's an honest genre that seems comfortable in it's own skin. Although it may never be cool I'm glad I enjoy it.

Sometimes when I want to get my head into a better place I find that writing something that rhymes will lift my spirits enormously! These days I often tend to find that a tune comes into my head as well whilst I'm writing but as I have no musical ability at all that's where it's destined to stay... When I read the words back on this one though I thought it sounded a bit country and although I wasn't all that comfortable with the thought (as I'm not a big fan of country music) it is what it is I guess!
